About Berkeley Alliance

OUR MISSION

Berkeley Alliance leverages its unique position as an intermediary organization to support initiatives that improve life opportunities for Berkeley youth.

Founded by the City of Berkeley, the University of California-Berkeley, and the Berkeley Unified School District, Berkeley Alliance is an organizational home for city-wide collaboration. We bring policymakers, institutional leaders, and community representatives together to ensure that all Berkeley children and youth benefit from the wealth of resources in their city.

Beginning in 2009, the Alliance has focused solely on the development of the 2020 Vision for Berkeley's Children and Youth, an ambitious initiative to close the academic achievement gap in Berkeley by the year 2020.
